Brian Cox is an accomplished Scottish actor best known today for his role as Logan Roy in Succession. Logan Roy in HBO’s Succession has earned Cox a Golden Globe and multiple Emmy nods, becoming a defining role of his career. Breakout film roles include Hannibal Lecter in Manhunter (1986), and notable appearances in Rob Roy, Braveheart, The Bourne Identity, X‑Men 2, and Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

Acclaimed in theatre, winning two Olivier Awards (Rat in the Skull in 1984 and Titus Andronicus in 1988). Cox returns to Scottish stage after a decade to play Adam Smith in James Graham’s Make It Happen, opening at Dundee Rep in July and Edinburgh International Festival (1–9 Aug 2025). It's a satirical epic about the lead-up to the 2008 financial crash, directed by Andrew Panton.
