Del Water Gap is an American indie‑pop singer‑songwriter and producer from Connecticut, now based in Brooklyn. The name comes from a chance sighting of "Delaware Water Gap" scrawled on a truck when he was seventeen. He began recording music around 2012 during boarding school and at NYU’s Clive Davis Institute, launching his first EP Del Water Gap EP in 2012, followed by multiple independent releases.
In 2020, his single “Ode to a Conversation Stuck in Your Throat” went viral after an Instagram dance video and earned a Gold certification in late 2024. His debut LP, Del Water Gap, dropped in 2021 on Mom + Pop Music, and I Miss You Already + I Haven’t Left Yet followed in September 2023, featuring collaborators like Clairo and Arlo Parks. Notable singles also include “Mariposa,” “Coping on Unemployment,” and “Quilt of Steam” (featuring Arlo Parks). He’s contributed to Maggie Rogers’ Surrender and tracks by Claud and others
