The Solar Ireland Conference 2025 is set to take place on Thursday, 2 October 2025, at the Royal Dublin Society (RDS) in Dublin, bringing together the brightest minds and most influential voices in Ireland’s renewable energy sector.
Organised by Solar Ireland—formerly the Irish Solar Energy Association—this annual event is the country’s premier platform for advancing the solar industry. The 2025 theme, “Advancing Towards Net Zero”, highlights the crucial role solar energy will play in Ireland’s transition to a low-carbon future.
The conference will unite policymakers, innovators, investors, and industry leaders to discuss strategies for accelerating solar deployment, integrating renewable power into the national grid, and fostering investment in cutting-edge technologies. Sessions will also explore emerging trends such as hybrid energy systems, large-scale storage solutions, rooftop solar growth, biodiversity considerations, and the impact of artificial intelligence on energy management.
Ireland’s solar sector has experienced remarkable growth in recent years. As of early 2025, over 1.7 GW of solar capacity has been installed nationwide, with projections to surpass 2 GW by the end of the year. At peak, solar has met 6.5% of Ireland’s electricity demand, preventing nearly 400,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually—equivalent to removing hundreds of thousands of cars from the road.
The Solar Ireland Conference provides a vital opportunity for collaboration, networking, and knowledge-sharing among all those committed to building a sustainable energy future.
